This is My Grateful Dead Story
I still remember the summer of 1991 like it was yesterday. My name is Michael Thompson, and I was 18 years old when I took my Volkswagen Beetle on the road to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on June 1st. The moment I pulled into the parking lot, I knew I was about to witness something special. The energy, the sea of tie-dye, the anticipation of the first notes ringing through the air—it was everything I had dreamed a Grateful Dead show would be.
That night was pure magic. The band played with an electricity that seemed to flow through every person in the crowd. When Jerry Garcia led into "Eyes of the World," I felt like I was part of something bigger, something that would stay with me for the rest of my life. That concert shaped my love for music, for freedom, and for the Deadhead spirit that still burns in me today.
Years later, I stumbled upon Cynthia Gale New York and saw their Grateful Dead jewelry collection. The moment I saw the Steal Your Face Sterling Silver Signet Ring, it was like stepping back in time to that summer night in '91. The craftsmanship, the detail—it wasn’t just jewelry, it was a memory I could wear. Now, every time I put it on, I feel that same energy, that same connection to the music and the community that changed my life forever.
The Grateful Dead is more than a band—it’s a way of life. And thanks to Cynthia Gale New York, I can carry a piece of that life with me every day.
Dead Heads All Around The World
In their fifty years together, the Grateful Dead forever altered the way in which popular music is performed, recorded, heard, marketed and shared. From the very beginning in 1965, the Dead distinguished themselves by their preference for live performance, musical and business creativity, and an unprecedented dedication to their fans.
Perhaps the best known Grateful Dead Insignia--the Steal Your Face logo--was designed by Owsley Stanley and artist Bob Thomas, and was originally used to mark the band’s sound equipment. This exquisite sterling silver jewelry collection from Cynthia Gale celebrates iconic Grateful Dead imagery for Dead Heads all around the world.
