Imagine Peace

The peace sign is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. It was created by Gerald Holtom on February 21, 1958 at the request of Lord Bertrand Russell, head of the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
It was adopted in the United States for Civil Rights marches and gained notoriety at the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in Bethel, New York during the weekend of August 15, 1969. Produced in sterling, the peace sign has been given a dynamic and free-spirited transformation with an organic twist that reflects the cultural energy of a time which left its mark on history and Rock and Roll.

Punk Rock

Punk subculture emerged in the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States in the mid-1970s.
Rebel fashion evolved into a highly theatrical use of clothing, hairstyles, cosmetics, tattoos, and jewelry. Early punk fashion adapted everyday objects for aesthetic effect: ripped, slashed and torn clothing was held together by safety pins and customized by embellishing it with metal studs, spikes and zippers. Often safety pins and razor blades were used as jewelry.
With a rebel yell, punk fashion and music has had an explosive influence on fashion. As a style, with its eclectic mixing of stylistic references, punk is essentially about freedom of expression and anti-establishment rebellious energy. The heart of rock and roll music.

Rock Star

Since the early 1950s, Cleveland, Ohio has served as the international symbol of rock and roll stardom. The Midwestern city drew many artists from overseas as they took the stage by storm for the first time in the United States. Over the years, rock and roll music has transformed to meet new audiences and continue to push the boundaries of our society. Like the stars in the night sky, rock is eternal as well as expansive. Masses of eager fans come to Cleveland each year to be dazzled by the power and energy of rock.

Revolution Dove

Women performers who have influenced rock and roll music through their music and way of thinking inspired this delicate, yet symbolic jewelry. The message of peace, love, and happiness spread through song during the 60’s and early 70’s. This was a time of rebellious behavior, change, and women’s rights.
Bell bottoms, floral head pieces and often times, peace signs and icons of doves adorned women during this time. This movement and new way of thinking changed the way the world thought about social justice and human rights. The dove is not only a spiritual symbol, but also symbolizes peace among humanity. The Revolution Dove collection has been produced for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum by Cynthia Gale. A portion of the proceeds from your purchase goes back to the museum to support their education program.
